General Pool Information

The pool has many programs and a schedule each day. Some highlights include drop-in Aqua Ex classes (fitness classes in the pool with an instructor) and open swim for both children and adults. All services are available for a small user fee payable by cash, check or credit card. Click on the link above for a downloadable schedule or view the online schedule below. The first Aqua Ex class is always free!

NO ANNUAL CONTRACT IS NEEDED TO USE THE POOL!

Just pay a small user fee each time you use the pool.  Punch passes are available for discounted pool visits and Aqua Ex classes.  Area visitors and resort homeowners are welcome anytime!

Activity Descriptions:

  • Lap Swim -- Lane lines in and lap swimmers are expected to share their lane. Circle swimming is used if lanes exceed two swimmers. Offered daily 6-8am and at other times (see schedule links above). The hot tub is available to adults during these times. When private lessons are scheduled at the same time, one lane will be reserved for them.

  • IAF or “Independent Adult Fitness” -- General swimming, water walking, and pool exercise intended for adults and seniors. No lap swimming. This is a good time to use the pool when you want to do your own workout or use the hot tub. Children (under 18) are not allowed in the pool during scheduled IAF times.

  • Aqua Exercise -- Water fitness class with instruction.

  • Moderate Aqua -- Less intense water fitness class with instruction.

  • Twinges or “Twinges in the Hinges” -- Joint mobility class with instruction. Great for recovery of joint replacements and for keeping active physically and socially.

  • Open Swim -- Pool available for all ages' general use and play; no lap swimming. *Limited Capacity* is at the discretion of the lifeguard on duty. The hot tub is open for ages 14+. This is a great time for parents to come with their children as we will have pool toys available. Parents may also use the community room which has a large window overlooking the pool as a place to supervise while their children swim.

  • Swim School / Lessons -- Learn to swim programs for all ages. Group lessons run for three weeks and meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please visit the Lessons tab or call to sign up.

  • Swimmers with Disabilities -- physical fitness and exercise for children and adults with disabilities: no instruction. 100% ADA accessible facility. $3/person. Aides in the water to assist a paying swimmer may attend for free.

  • Hot Tub -- The hot tub is open for adults to use during Open Swim, IAF, or Lap Swim times. The hot tub is not available during swim lessons and during Aqua Ex classes, only those who pay the Aqua Ex rate can use the hot tub. The general pass price is the user fee for the hot tub. The hot tub can be used by anyone who is age 14 and over.

  • Showers -- The showers are available to all pool users. If someone wants to just take a shower, and not use other facilities, the cost is $2. This is ideal for people who are camping or want to shower and change after using the adjacent bike/hike trail.

  • Pool Rental -- The pool is available for private parties and those renting the pool can also add on the use of the community room. Call us for information.

  • The STINGRAY Swim Team is currently looking for a new coach. MORE INFO

In the event of severe weather, scheduled activities may be cancelled. Check our website or Facebook page for updates.

PARENTS -- Please read this information about bringing children to the pool:

  • Children 5 & under must be with-in arms reach of an adult in the water.

  • Children 6 & over must be at least 48 inches tall and pass the swim test* to be admitted in the water without an adult.

  • Children 12 & over may be at the Pool without adult supervision if they have passed a swim test* and a parent’s cell phone # is with desk attendant.

  • If a child is unable to touch the bottom of the shallow end while standing and cannot pass the swim test*, they must wear a Coast Guard approved life vest in the Pool at all times. Life vests are available at the pool.

  • Only children who have passed the swim test* will be allowed in the deep end.

  • All children under 15 may be asked to pass the swim test* and may be asked to repeat at each visit.

  • Children who are not potty trained must wear swim diapers. The swim diapers are available for purchase at the pool for $1.

*The swim test is successfully swimming the length of the Pool on your stomach using the front crawl.

Monthly Board of Directors Meetings

The CACP all-volunteer Board of Directors meets monthly on the second Thursday of the month at 4 pm at the pool. Anyone is invited to attend, but please let us know you are coming so we have seating set up. Email us at info@charlevoixpool.org.

WE NEED LIFEGUARDS

While we have recently hired some new lifeguards and have expanded our schedule, we always need more lifeguards. Please stop in and fill out an application or ask about our lifeguard training program. Not sure if you could pass the Lifeguard Training? We can work with you on skill development if you are interested in training to be a lifeguard. Some of our lifeguards are retired and have stepped up to help us out. Call Kathy at 231-547-0982 if interested.
