25-35 hours a week; Some Weekends Required

 

Position Description: The Swim School Coordinator works with the pool staff, students, and parents as part of a team to help ensure the pool meets its objectives. Primary job functions are to provide and coordinate all swim instruction, swim school, and related activities for patrons in a safe learning environment. The Swim School Coordinator should be familiar with all the educational programs offered by the CACP and have strong swimming skills. He/She will also provide assistance to the office staff by providing clerical services as well as reception desk services. Good communication and computer skills a must.

 

Employees must meet the minimum requirements, conditions of employment, and be able to successfully perform all essential duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations.

 

Qualifications: Candidates should feel comfortable working with children and have a basic understanding of swimming strokes. Ideal candidates would have past competitive swimming experience, swimming instruction experience and/or lifeguarding experience and have worked with children. A candidate with any of the following certifications will be highly considered: Lifeguard Training, CPR, First Aid and AED certifications. We anticipate any candidate hired will receive future training as follows: Water Safety Instruction, Lifeguard Instructor, and Certified Pool Operator certification.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: (may include but are not limited to the following)

  • Schedule and instruct swim skills and water safety to patrons of all swimming abilities.

  • Coordinate group lessons and private-lesson instructors and enrollees to ensure optimal use of pool time and space; as well as ensure continuity in teaching methods.

  • Promote a safe, welcoming community-oriented facility and answer all inquiries in a timely manner.

  • Assist in all fundraising efforts.

  • Patron correspondence in the form of: letters, phone, in person greeting, and email.

  • Assist patrons with the daily functions of checking in, purchasing/renewing passes, and general information about the pool the facility and schedules.

  • Know the EAP (emergency action plan) and be able to assist lifeguards as needed.

  • Help to ensure the general safety and security of the building.

  • May be required to work as a lifeguard and cover desk shifts.

  • Assist in orientating and training new staff.

  • Prepare and maintain applicable records.

  • Be an engaged member of the pool team!

The mission of the Charlevoix Area Community Pool is to provide a wide range of aquatic programs promoting health, fitness, recreation and water safety.  The pool is focused on providing programs that meet the changing needs of area children and adults through a safe, professionally managed aquatic facility that is affordable and accessible to all. The pool strives to be the best aquatic fitness and recreation resource in the area. The pool is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization.

Front Desk Staff

The front desk staff answers the phones and greets our patrons and checks them in. Stop in for an application.

Office Assistant

Reports To:  Kathy Klimas, Pool Manager

25-30 hours a week; Some Weekends Required

 

Position Description: Primary functions of the job are assistance to office staff by providing clerical and reception desk duties. Employees must work as part of a team to meet its objectives.  Good communication and computer skills required. Employees must meet the minimum requirements, conditions of employment and be able to perform successfully all essential duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations. This position may require irregular hours.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: (may include but are not limited to the following)

  • Become proficient with Pool software,MindBody, check-in/scheduling system.

  • Assist patrons with the daily functions of checking in, purchasing/renewing passes, and general information about the pool, our facility and schedules.

  • Prepares and maintains applicable records.

  • Provide Pool information in the form of: letters, phone, in person greeting, and email for a variety of purposes.

  • Assist in fundraising activities as needed.

  • Know the EAP (emergency action plan) and be able to assist lifeguards as needed including to ensure the general safety and security of the building.

  • Opens and closes the facility in accordance with Pool procedures.

CACP Stingray Swim Coach Wanted   current 1/23

Part-Time—Monday to Friday with Saturdays and some Sundays Required

 

Position Description:  The Charlevoix Area Community Pool (CACP) swim coach works with pool staff youth and parents as part of the pool’s team to ensure the successful meeting of its objectives for a competitive swim team. Primary job functions are to coach and coordinate team and individual workouts based on each summer’s needs and ability in a safe learning environment.  The swim coach should be familiar with all programs offered by the CACP and have strong swimming skills,

 

Qualifications:  Candidates will have experience in competitive swimming, swim teach coaching, and coordinating recreational swim meets.  Good communications skills and etiquette are required.

 

Candidates should exhibit behaviors when working with youth that is age-appropriate and confidence-building.  The candidate should demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of swimming and coaching techniques as well as dryland training.

 

A candidate with the following certifications or ability to obtain certifications will be highly considered:

 

  •  MTSL and USA certification

  •  First Aid and AED certifications

  •  Lifeguard training
