Special Olympics Swim Team Training
Join in on the opportunity to train for the Special Olympics with the goal of competing in a Regional Meet in the spring and possibly the State Special Olympics Meet in June. Participants will swim laps and work on stroke skills and endurance. Benefits include physical fitness, being part of a team and having fun.
You do not need to be an accomplished swimmer, beginner swimmers are welcome.
Practice times: Wednesday, 8:00-9:00 pm
Cost: $2.75/district residents, $3.00/non-district Practice begins: Contact pool for schedule information.
The Mission of Special Olympics - to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with mental retardation, giving them cintinuing opportunites to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in sharing of gifts and friendship with their families. |
