| Students must be 15 years of age and successfully complete the following skills: swim 300 yards continuously, using these strokes in the following order - 100-yard front crawl using rhythmic breathing, 100-yard breaststroke, 100-yard either front crawl or breaststroke. Swim 20 yards using front crawl or breaststroke, surface dive 7-10 feet, retrieve a 10-pound object, return to the surface and swim 20 yards back to starting point. |

| This course is for those interested in teaching swimming. You must be 17 years of age prior to the first day of class. Cost is $160 for residents of Charlevoix & Hayes townships and the City of Charlevoix; $175 for non-residents. Cost includes all materials. See Interest List at front desk. |

| We are looking for interested young people to participate in the Junior Lifeguarding Program. You must be at least 10 years of age and willing to work hard in exchange for some fun, free swim time. Students will be introduced to safety skills, including ring toss, reach and throw rescues and pool rules. Students will also learn how to perform a chemical test on the pool. Upon completion, students will be able to volunteer at the pool as a Junior Lifeguard and receive and official Junior Lifeguard t-shirt. |

| We are looking for interested young people to participate in the Swim Lesson Instructor Aids program. You must be at least 12 years of age and willing to work hard in exchange for some fun, free swim time. Students will be introduced to safety skills, including ring toss, reach and throw rescues and pool rules. Students will also learn to perform a chemical test on the pool. Students will also learn hands-on how to assist a swim teacher with swim lessons. Students will help demonstrate skills and assist the teacher with the class. |
